What is Xero?

Xero is an online accounting system designed for small businesses and their advisors.

Xero allows you to monitor your financial performance in real-time, so you always know where your business is at and your cash position. You can do your accounting from anywhere there is an Internet connection - home, office or even overseas.
Xero is a full accounting system with a cash book, GST reporting, automated daily bank feeds and other features such as invoicing (you can automatically email invoices), debtors (people who owe you money), creditors (people you owe money to).
Why Use Xero?
One of the amazing features in Xero is the free automatic bank feeds. These feeds make bank reconciliations easy and fun! (Yes, I didn't think I would say that!) As the transactions automatically import nightly, you save time in capturing and coding and Xero has a system that allows you to tell it to "smart code" - this is for transactions that are the same every month or on a regular basis e.g. rent, rates, electricity etc. Before Xero applies the "smart code", it asks for confirmation, which makes coding much easier.
Xero has great reports that export to excel (spreadsheet), Word documents or to PDF and Google Docs.
Xero allows you to give access to people you trust e.g. advisers, bankers, accountants etc - no more cumbersome transfer of data that can be corrupt or is out of date.
It also fully integrates with MYOB Accountants Office - the system most accountants use to prepare year end financial reports and tax returns - this then eliminates the need for your accountant to recapture the data into their system and thereby saves you money (on their bill)!

I have been using Xero for 1 month now and I love how easy it is to use. It remembers all my usual transactions so I only have to check them and complete any anomalies.
The feature I love the best is the Dashboard, it is so easy to see at a glance how we are looking financially but also highlights any trends that may have developed.

It is so user friendly, and the fact you can use it from any computer with an internet connection is worth it's weight in gold.
The (free) bank feed feature is awesome, and saves so much time at the end of the month, I no longer have to code every transaction individually like I did in MYOB, Xero does most of it for you!
The monthly subscription is well worth the price, as it is web based software, you always have the latest version at no extra cost.
I would highly recommend changing over to Xero,
